The best time to visit Barbados is winter through spring, from December to April. Barbados is generally warm and sunny, enjoying 3,000 hours of sunshine annually, with relatively mild temperatures. Only about five degrees separate the year-round high temperatures.

From mid-December through mid-April, the dry season, the island receives the least amount of rain, with precipitation increasing slightly through May.

Summer is also a popular time to go to Barbados despite somewhat higher temperatures and humidity, and more rainfall.

Summer

Barbadian summers are pleasant since the temperatures vary little from season to  season. June through August temperatures average 82℉ ( 28℃), about three degrees higher than January through March’s average of 79℉ ( 26℃). Daytime highs can reach 88℉ (31℃).

Summer brings more rain than winter but less than fall. The wet season begins in June with rainfall of about four inches (103mm), increasing to five inches (127mm) in July, and five and a half inches (140mm) in August.

Since it rarely rains all day long, there’s plenty of sunshine to enjoy the west coast’s sugar-soft beaches and turquoise waters.

Fall

Temperatures continue to be mild in fall, averaging around 82℉ (28℃) in September, October, and November, with highs of  88℉ (31℃.) Since fall is Barbados’ rainiest season, expect showers sometimes.

October sees the highest rainfall of seven inches (178mm) with September and November experiencing six inches (152mm).

During the relatively brief showers, consider indoor tours of some of the sights that Barbados is known for, such as Harrison’s Cave, Mount Gay Rum Distillery, and the Agapey Chocolate Factory.

In winter, Barbados receives the least amount of rain. January’s average is 2.7 inches (70 mm), dropping to around 1.5 inches (38mm) in February and March. Winter is a great time for snorkeling in Barbados, as well as relaxing at the beach, ziplining, and touring the inland Flower Forest Botanical Gardens.
